- Specialties: In the past 25 years, Dr. Kari has done extensive linguistic work in many Alaskan Athabaskan languages, incluing Ahtna, Dena'ina, Koyukon, Deg Hit'an, Holikachuk, Tanana, and Upper Tanana.
- Other projects: continued publication of Dena'ina language materials, inlcuding Sukdu Neł Nuhtghelnek (2004) and The Dena'ina Topical Dictionary (forthcoming).
